October 9, 2014 - FTCA Administrative Claims - RECORDING AVAILABLE. This webinar will address how to assess and file an administrative claim for monetary damages against federal law immigration officers’ tortious acts or omissions under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).  Torts discussed will include negligence, false imprisonment, assault, battery, false arrest, abuse of process and negligent and intentional inflection of emotional distress. October 16, 2014 - Bivens Actions - RECORDING AVAILABLE. This webinar will cover how to assess and file a complaint in federal district court for damages and injunctive relief based on constitutional violations committed by individual federal officers acting under color of federal law or authority pursuant to Bivens v. October 22, 2014 - FTCA District Court - This webinar will focus on litigating an FTCA action in federal district court in the event that the agency denies or fails to act on the administrative complaint.  The presentation will address preparation of the complaint, responding to dispositive motions, and discovery.  (Prerequisite is FTCA Administrative Claims or equivalent experience.) October 30, 2014 - Section 1983 - This webinar will explain the nuts and bolts of filing a complaint in federal district court for damages and injunctive relief under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against state, local or municipal government, officials or actors, including best practices for pleading 1983 claims.
